MEET MICHELE

"I see what you're capable of, even when you can't see it yet."

I've always been good at recognising potential in people before they recognise it in themselves. Over the years, I've coached people who were convinced they weren't runners, who thought they'd left it too late to become athletes, or who believed certain things simply weren't possible for them.

There's nothing quite like watching someone achieve something they genuinely thought was beyond them, then seeing the moment they finally believe in themselves too.

Fitness changed far more than my body.

My own relationship with health and fitness hasn't always been straightforward.

During my teens and early twenties, I faced significant health challenges, including systemic lupus and hyperthyroidism. I later worked in biomedical sciences within the NHS, but discovering exercise helped me develop a completely different relationship with my body.

After becoming a mum, I became immersed in bodybuilding. Initially, I wanted to change how I looked, but the confidence I gained went far beyond the gym. It gave me the courage to make enormous changes in my life and ultimately build a new future with my wife, Graz.

That experience helped inspire us to create Wilder Fitness.

But as my understanding of fitness evolved, I realised that having the physique I'd worked so hard for didn't necessarily mean I felt my best. I became far more interested in what my body could do than simply how it looked.

Strength. Endurance. Performance. That’s where I found my passion.

That curiosity about what my body could achieve led me towards hybrid training and eventually HYROX. I fell in love with the challenge of combining running, strength, muscular endurance and race execution.

Today, HYROX is the central focus of my coaching career. I've worked with complete beginners preparing for their very first race, as well as experienced competitors chasing ambitious performance goals. I'm also an active HYROX competitor and Head Judge, which gives me valuable insight into the sport from both sides of the race course.

Alongside my coaching, I founded HYROX Newbies, a community that has grown to tens of thousands of members and helps make the sport feel more welcoming and accessible.
